I'm passionate about my dogs and I'm passionate about nutrition.  It is my pleasure to talk about the raw diet anytime.

50% of every dog in America over age 10 will die of cancer.  80% of every dog over age 8 have arthritis symptoms.

Here at WAAP our goal is to provide you with the healthiest puppy possible and that starts with really good quality nutrition for our breeding stock.  I encourage you to do your research on the health benefits of the raw diet. Click the above video for a detailed explanation of why raw foods are so healthy.  We believe that the same health benefits humans get from eating the colors of the rainbow also apply to dogs.  We believe a variety of muscle meats, organs, bone, homemade bone broth, raw goat milk kefir, fish, veggies and antioxidants provide the very best opportunity for dogs to thrive.

WE BELIEVE A SMALL AMOUNT OF VEGETABLES ARE AN IMPORTANT PART OF YOUR DOG'S DIET!  For this reason we follow the B.A.R.F. raw feeding model.

My favorite raw feeding websites: #1 webpage regarding raw feeding

Great books on raw feeding:

My favorite pre-made raw: Christie is local here in Texas and she's amazing! buy the Woof Run Plus formula or the Puppy formula called Beginners Choice

What Raw Looks Like for a WAAP Dog.  These are examples only of what we feed our dogs.

You are responsible for your dog's balanced diet and doing your own research.

Raw feeding basics:  80% muscle meat, 10% bone, 10% organs with 5% of that being liver and a tiny bit of vegetables especially leafy greens.

Buy an affordable food scale because you want to weigh your liver.  This is the most important thing to get right.  I use beef liver.

Do not serve more than 1 egg 3x a week.  I slightly cook the egg so the yolk is raw.

Do not serve more than 10% of their diet in fish, and make sure to use sardines, mackerel, herring or anchovies.  You're looking for the lowest toxicity fish for reduced heavy metals.  Yes, you can use chub mackerel from the grocery store or canned sardines in water.

Make sure to include a probiotic.  Raw green tripe is a superfood for dogs and is loaded in digestive enzymes and probiotics. You can buy raw milk fermented kefir from Answers (brand) at many dog food boutique stores.  You can also use plain yogurt from the grocery store but DO NOT USE ANY OTHER KIND OF YOGURT ESPECIALLY YOGURT WITH A SUGAR SUBSTITUTE!

Raw feeders also believe in balance over time...   So if you fed a turkey drumstick that is high in bone, you can reduce the bone content the next meal.  If you serve a fish over the 10% rule one day, simply skip fish the next day.

turkey drumstick, sardine, ground beef, green veggie blend, organ blend, raw milk kefir, joint supplement blend

Mackerel, beef heart, raw green tripe, chicken feet, 2 blue mussels, 2 chicken feet, veggie blend mixed with cooked beef tendon

Turkey thigh, beef heart, egg slightly cooked to leave the yolk raw, raw milk kefir, green lipped mussels, veggie blend with beef tendon

Whole food joint supplement:

We believe in the vast broad spectrum of nutrients that work together, not a single extracted supplement.

All WAAP dogs are fed this everyday.

45 day supply for under $25

All ingredients can be found at 99 Market on Mason Road Katy, TX.  Search your local Asian market!!!

Pork ears
Beef tendon
Chicken feet (paws)
Green Lipped Mussels (the holy grail to dog joint health) Even Steve's Real Food is adding this to their formulas soon!  info

On the lowest simmer setting low cook your ears, tendon and chicken feet overnight.  The next morning place all ingredients in the Vitamix or Ninja blender.  Defrost your already cooked mussels in hot water.  Remove the mussels from the shell, discard shell.  Add to the blender.  Blend.  Store in ice cube trays and freeze.  Serve 2 a day or more for arthritis symptoms.  This is also super healthy for their gut.  We all know gut health is overall health.  DO NOT DISCARD THE BROTH!  This is super healthy bone broth.  Let the dogs drink it or add organic bullion by Better Than Bullion and drink it yourself!

Fresh vegetables

Vegetables feed the gut microbiome!

1/2 16oz box of organic spinach.  Freeze the other 1/2 for your dog's veggie recipe next time.
Salad trimmings.  Yes, save your salad scraps (optional).  You can also add any veggies you choose.  Go to Google and quickly ask google if that specific vegetable is safe for dogs.
6 eggs in the bottom of your blender
about a cup of coconut oil
about 1/2 jar NATURAL peanut butter

Freeze in ice cube trays.  Serve 1 a day.  This is a 40 day supply for one dog.

Raw milk home fermented kefir INFO  video

Your dog can have leaky gut too!  Leaky guy causes inflammation which leads to a host of other immune issues and diseases.  Once again, a healthy gut is the key to overall wellness.

It's said, that raw milk fermented kefir is the healthiest probiotic in the world.  When you use raw milk instead of homogenized milk your kefir can have up to 70 strains of probiotics.  I drink it and I share it with my dogs.  I buy raw milk from Stryke Farm here in Texas.  You can buy raw milk fermented kefir made by Answers at  your local pet food boutique.  Kefir grains eat the lactose in the milk.  Most dogs do perfectly fine with kefir.  If  you buy kefir from the grocery store, make sure it's the unsweetened kind.

As of writing this, me and my dogs have been consuming raw milk kefir for over a year and I've yet to be sick, not even the common cold.  I drink it on an empty stomach in the morning.  You can request kefir grains from me or buy it from Amazon.  I started with Mr. and Mrs. Kefir.   LINK

If you choose to make your own, I understand raw milk is hard to find.  You can go to Whole Foods and buy low temp pasteurized milk and you'll be fine.

serve 2 - 3 ice cubes a day

Organ meat for dogs.  INFO

Organ meats are a superfood for dogs.  They are the healthiest part of the animal.  However, unlike the other ingredients above, too much organ meat (liver) can be toxic however we don't want to discard the health benefits of liver, we just want to get it right.

Animal hearts.  Heart is considered a muscle meat, not an organ.  Hearts are non-toxic but too much can cause stomach upset.  I combine the hearts with liver for the dilution factor and health benefits of heart muscle meat.  I find hearts at 99 Market (Asian food Market) on Mason Road (Katy, TX) or Fiesta for beef heart.

1 batch is:

100% raw

1/3 package of beef liver.  Save the other 2/3 for your next batch
1 entire package chicken hearts
1 pig heart (1/3 package)

Blend and store in ice cube trays.  Do not exceed more than 1 a day.

If you still choose to feed kibble, there are still a few things you can do to help your dogs.

Go to Chewy . com and buy all natural chicken feet treats, beef tendon chews, green lipped mussel treats and beef trachea chews.  Make sure to look for the words ALL NATURAL.  These are superior sources of glucosamine chondroitin.  Serve at least one of those a day.

Add 1 can of sardines (in water) at least 3x a week to your dog's kibble.

Crack 1 egg 3x a week.  I personally cook the egg white slightly but make sure the yolk is raw.  I read somewhere that the yolk is best raw but the white is best cooked.  No worries either way as this is simply opinion.

Can you mix some raw with your dog's kibble?  Steve's Real Foods says yes.  INFO

Your puppy is fed the most award winning dry kibble in the world, Orijen Puppy.  Trust me, I would save a TON of money if I fed a cheaper kibble!  Not for my puppies!!!  Even the raw diet is cheaper.  Compare ingredients!!!  There's no comparison.  MORE INFO

Ingredients Orijen Puppy Dry:

Deboned chicken, deboned turkey, yellowtail flounder, whole eggs, whole atlantic mackerel, chicken liver, turkey liver, chicken heart, turkey heart, whole atlantic herring, dehydrated chicken, dehydrated turkey, dehydrated mackerel, dehydrated chicken liver, dehydrated turkey liver, whole green peas, whole navy beans, red lentils, chicken necks, chicken kidney, chicken fat, pinto beans, chickpeas, green lentils, alfalfa, natural chicken flavor, lentil fiber, herring oil, ground chicken bone, chicken cartilage, turkey cartilage, dried kelp, freeze-dried chicken liver, freeze-dried turkey liver, whole pumpkin, whole butternut squash, kale, spinach, mustard greens, collard greens, turnip greens, whole carrots, apples, pears, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, zinc proteinate, mixed tocopherols (preservative), chicory root, turmeric, sarsaparilla root, althea root, rosehips, juniper berries, dried lactobacillus acidophilus fermentation product, dried bifidobacterium animalis fermentation product, dried lactobacillus casei fermentation product.

Before puppies are fully weaned to kibble, they are fed a variety of foods.  This gives puppies every opportunity to reduce the chance of allergies in the future.

Why do I still choose kibble for puppies when I'm an advocate of raw?  Because the majority of the public doesn't have the time to prepare the raw diet for their dogs and to be honest, it's very confusing getting it right!  I do NOT want my puppies malnourished from lack of vital nutrients necessary for growth.  Unless you contact a canine nutritionist like Christie Bailey at Lucie's Legacy (above), please don't put my puppies on a raw diet.

You will be sent home with samples of NuVet Vitamins.  Your puppy is on this vitamin at my kennel.  I highly encourage you to do your research on this amazing supplement and consider keeping your pup on this supplement.  Let me explain why the purchase of this vitamin has been added as a requirement before the puppy can go home...   Your puppy's immune system will go through huge amounts of stress during it's first 6 months of life due to many toxins put in his body from immunizations, flea treatments and heart worm preventative.   The least we can do is give them an antioxidant vitamin!  Whether you buy a puppy from me or not, please consider this highly nutritious vitamin.
